About Noho Gallery and Marilyn Henrion (the featured artist)
Noho Gallery: Noho Gallery stands as one of the oldest and most respected artist-led galleries in New York. The guiding philosophy through the years has been to exhibit art works of high quality in all media, diverse in style and content. Noho Gallery opened its doors in 1975 and was originally located just north of Houston Street, thus the name "Noho." In 1983 the gallery relocated to Soho for seventeen years. Noho Gallery moved to Chelsea, the heart of today's New York's art scene, in September 2001.
Marilyn Henrion: A graduate of Cooper Union and a lifelong New Yorker, Marilyn Henrion has had her award-winning works included in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and abroad. The works, in major corporate, museum, and private collections, have also been featured in numerous publications, including “Women Designers In The U.S.- 1900-2000”, published in 2001 by Yale University Press. Among the grants she has received, was one awarded in 1996 by The Artslink Partnership, devoted to fostering excellence in the arts between the U.S. and countries of the former Soviet Union. Henrion was recently honored by the Smithsonian Institution by being invited to submit her papers and sketchbooks for inclusion in the Archives of American Art. In 2005, she was awarded a Fellowship by the New York Foundation for the Arts. http://www.nohogallery.com/artists/Henrion.html
